A heavier individual is considered abnormal. Both words indicate that a person is heavier than what is considered healthy for their height. More than one out of every three adults in the United States is heavier. Making it known among some of the communities with a greater or heavier body weight in the world. A significant global public health issue is obesity.

Being heavier is linked to a higher risk of developing a number of common diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and various malignancies. Additionally, evidence points to a link between obesity and a higher chance of dying from COVID-19. Similarly, childhood obesity is a significant public health issue.
